In the shaping bay with Vincent

"Our twin fin, the Gainsboard, was one of the first surfboard concepts I worked on in 2015. Since then, I have been trying to tweak small things on the bottom contour, rails or the rocker to maximize the performance of the design. Working in the shaping bay is both really fun and physically exhausting but the possibility of surfing a board that I have shaped keeps me excited.

I also have the feeling that a shaping bay and the act of shaping itself is the first step to the technical understanding of a surfboard. With experience, I already know more or less how the surfboard will behave. "Mind-surfing" as they say !
Personally, it's more like a sweet mix between a feeling, the vision of the lines and a prediction of the surfboard and the surfer on the wave.

This new Minute was shot during winter, on one of this beautiful sunny days. We left with the goal to shot, without much expectation, as always lost in the middle of "les Landes".
We frequently shot to introduce our surfboard designs but often come back empty-handed. This time, everything felt into place, the observation of the sandbanks in the morning on the low tide predicted good waves on the rising tide. Magic happened, a wave was drawn to the edge, creating a perfect bowl that ended on the sand. A real studio for filming, and many waves surfed to test this Gainsboard 5'8, which remains definitely one of my favorite models."
