Poster - The Rare Bird

Sam Kristofski is a New Zealand artist known for the videos he directed for the bands Tame Impala and The Babe Rainbow.

A few years ago, Sam had started a surf film project called The Rare Bird with an original soundtrack by his friends from The Babe Rainbow. While in France, he agreed to show some surf footage at SurfInEstate, which would be included in the film once the project was finished. The film was never released because all the rush were stolen from Sam’s car in Los Angeles. For a while he intended to make an illustrated book with the photos he had accumulated during the shooting. But in the end, this project did not come to fruition either. This poster is one of the last testimonies of this adventure.
