Roch Tastet est un artiste originaire d'Hossegor, qui a grandi au cœur de la forêt landaise, au bord du lac. Après avoir obtenu une licence en biologie des organismes et des écosystèmes aquatiques, il a choisi de se tourner vers sa passion première : l'art. Il a ainsi étudié pendant plusieurs années à l'ECV Bordeaux, où il a obtenu un master en cinéma d'animation 2D/3D.
Ses influences artistiques sont multiples et variées : il est fortement influencé par les comics d'horreur et de science-fiction des années 50 et 70, notamment ceux de chez EC Comics et les Creepy. Il puise également dans la culture punk en général, dont il apprécie l'énergie créative, le DIY, le fanzine et le refus du conventionnel. Charles Burns, artiste associé à la culture punk, fait également partie de ses influences majeures.
En tant qu'illustrateur et chanteur, Roch propose une vision personnelle empreinte de son amour pour les Landes et de sa fascination pour les pins. À travers son exposition "Sous les pins tranquilles", il offre une vision écorchée mais contemplative de cette nature qui l'entoure depuis toujours. Un regard qui nous ramène à quelque chose de stable et de familier, mais qui pose également des questions sur le rapport de force entre l'homme et la nature, la mort et la vie.
Roch Tastet is an artist from Hossegor, who grew up in the heart of the Landes forest, by the lake. After obtaining a degree in biology of aquatic organisms and ecosystems, he chose to pursue his true passion: art. He studied for several years at ECV Bordeaux, where he obtained a master's degree in 2D/3D animation cinema.
His artistic influences are diverse and varied: he is strongly influenced by horror and science-fiction comics from the 50s and 70s, notably those from EC Comics and Creepy. He also draws from punk culture in general, appreciating its creative energy, DIY, fanzines, and rejection of conventionality. Charles Burns, an artist associated with punk culture, is also one of his major influences.
As an illustrator and singer, Roch offers a personal vision imbued with his love for the Landes and his fascination with pine trees. Through his exhibition "Under the Quiet Pines," he offers a raw yet contemplative vision of the nature that has surrounded him his entire life. A perspective that brings us back to something stable and familiar, but also raises questions about the power dynamic between humans and nature, death and life.
